About Me

Early Life

I grew up outside of Medford, WI and attended a kindergarten center in Stetsonville, WI that was part of the Medford School District. The best years of my education were spent in a 3 room elementary township school until 6th grade. In 7th grade I went to Medford Junior and High School where I graduated in 1982. I worked for 4 years as the office manager of a feed store in Dorchester, WI before attending college.

Early Adult Life

I went the UW La Crosse for Elementary Education and minored in Public Administration and Social Studies. After graduating in 1990, I taught 5th grade in Owen-Withee until 1994 and during that time I earned my Masters of Education with an emphasis in gifted education from UW Eau Claire. Then I got a job with the Tomah Area School District as the Elementary Gifted Education Coordinator. In 1997, my husband and I moved to Manitowoc, WI where I was an Elementary Gifted Resource Teacher for 3 years, and a teacher in looping classrooms in grades 4 - 6 for 5 years.

Early Middle Life

After having two children and wanting to be closer to family, we moved back to the area. I worked as an instructional aide in Title One at Parkview Elementary for a year but then became the Director of River Source Family Center in Chippewa. I stayed there for 3 years until I was hired as the Elementary Gifted Resource Teacher for the Chippewa Falls School District.

Currently

Our family lives in Chippewa Falls. We have a 23 yr old son and 21 yr old daughter. Life is wonderful in Chippewa Falls because it reminds us of our small town roots, Dorchester, WI and La Crescent, MN. It feels so much like home and has become home. The other great part of living here is that we are so close to Eau Claire and the Twin Cities. Our family enjoys having access to many different activities.
