 6th Grade

Computer Basics

This course is designed to teach basic computer skills needed to function at the Chippewa Falls Middle School and in today’s society. Students will become proficient in the basic concepts of word processing, through the use of formatting. This course will also instruct students to use proper technique while teaching the touch method of typing. Speed will also be enhanced to gain efficiency.

Exploring Business

In this course students will explore the world of business in this class. This class will begin preparing students for a future in business while also engaging them in understanding more about a business.



 7th Grade

Dollars & Sense

This course is designed to provide students with practical skills related to business and economics. Personal finance skills such as banking, saving and investing, and creating a budget are covered to ensure that students know the value of managing money. Students will use Google Applications and the Internet to complete activities that allow them to start planning for the future.



Digital Voice

The goal of this course is to further the student’s knowledge in the areas of digital communications through the proper use of various digital resources available to the student. Some of the topic areas that will be covered include e-mail, blogging, and web page design.

 8th Grade

Paparazzi

This course is designed to provide the student with a background on careers available and technologies used in the printing and publishing field. This course will use desktop publishing, photography, videography, and digital imaging programs to create publications.   

The Biz

This course class will introduce students to the concepts of becoming an entrepreneur. Students will gain experience in the product development cycle, business management, fundamental marketing, and basic accounting. Students will accomplish this through coming up with a product and working as a team to promote and sell it at school. This class is recommended for anyone interested in potentially becoming an entrepreneur (business owner) or entering into a business or marketing related career. 

Yearbook

This course is designed to develop students’ skills in yearbook production by providing experiences in selected aspects of yearbook production.  Students learn basic principles of yearbook production and develop skills that include writing copy, captions and headlines; digital photography; desktop publishing and using appropriate technology tools for media production.
