I want to start by saying how excited I am to be a part of this community and school district. I would also like to welcome you to the Eagle Team and 8th grade Pre-Algebra and Algebra. This year we will investigate and explore several topics which include: transformations, scientific notation, 1 variable equations, the Pythagorean Theorem, linear functions, bivariate data, systems of equations, similarity of figures, area, and volume. My goal for the end of the year is for you to be proficient in all of the topics we will study.
I am a second generation teacher and I have a love for teaching and mathematics. I have over a decade of teaching experience that ranges across multiple levels. I have taught 8th grade for several years at Chippewa Falls Middle School, four years of teaching at Viroqua High School, and seven years of instruction at Chippewa Valley Technical College. I graduated from Western Technical College with an associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, a bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematical Education from UW-Milwaukee, and a master's degree for Mathematical Education from UW-River Falls. I am also currently enrolled at Edgewood College for an Educational Doctorate degree in Administration.
I currently live in Chippewa Falls with my wife, three children, and our two dogs. We enjoy traveling, camping, pontooning, biking, downhill skiing, and other outdoor activities. My family likes to participate in several local events like the E.C. Marathon, Flater’s Triathlon, Chippewa Valley Century Ride, Loop De Lori Triathlon, and the Festival Foods Turkey Trot. Our favorite sports teams are the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers!
