When students log into MS Teams, they will see the "General Chat" screen. In MS Teams, the "General Chat" is similar to the "Stream" in Google Classroom.
This is where students will find their daily agenda and I will often post other important information here (app join links, rallies, campus activities, etc.).
Students will use the buttons on the left side of the screen to navigate MS Teams.
Two tabs that will not be used are the "Grades" tab and the "Insights" tab. All grades will be recorded in Aeries.
By clicking on "Class Notebook", students can access my copies of the notes we took in class.
All the notes we take throughout the year will be accessible here.
Students can more easily view these notes by using the drop down menu located in the top right to either "Open in Desktop App" or "Open in Browser".
By selecting either "Open in Desktop App" or "Open in Browser", students will open the MS OneNote app.
Being able to take, store , and distribute notes in MS Teams is one of the reasons I use MS Teams as opposed to Google Classroom.
While most assignments will be posted in Big Ideas online, I do sometimes post assignments in MS Teams.
This is often done when I use digital activities and/or need to distribute materials that are not related to Big Ideas.
I will also post instructions and assignments in MS Teams on days that I am out of the classroom.
Remember, you will not find assignment scores in MS Teams. All scores will be posted in Aeries.
