Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA®), is a national career and technical student organization (CTSO) that focuses on personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education. FCCLA® aims to help students develop life skills, such as leadership, communication, and decision-making, through various activities, projects, and competitions. The organization provides a platform for students to work on projects related to families, careers, and communities, emphasizing the importance of balancing work and family life, understanding consumer issues, and being active community members.
Involvement in FCCLA® offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life-planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication; skills that are necessary for the home and workplace.
FCCLA® offers opportunities for students to participate in leadership conferences, competitive events, and community service projects, which are designed to help them become more responsible citizens and prepare for their future careers. The organization also emphasizes the importance of strong family relationships and the role of the family in society.
