March 2017

CKES students and staff celebrated KOLEA WEEK in March! Activities included dress up days and our quarter 3 incentive SPORTS DAY. Classes that met their positive behavior goal for the 3rd quarter were able to learn about and participate in the sport of their choice. A HUGE thank you to all of our community partners made this activity possible- University of Hawai'i Hilo Soccer, Hilo High Football and Cheerleaders, Waiakea High Boys Volleyball, coach Daniel Perry, our very own staff Mr. Y and Mr Devin, and our PTO for the yummy (and healthy) frozen treat! And CONGRATULATIONS to all the classes who met their quarter 3 PBS goal!

Happy New Year! Students were welcomed back to school in January with a BACK TO SCHOOL assembly. To help students get back into the routine of school, students reviewed our school rules and behavior expectations and participated in bullying awareness lessons. Check out what your child has learned and reinforce THE POWER TO CARE!
