The life line of any athletic program is its ability to raise money to provide equipment, resources, and opportunity for our student athletes to have the best experience during their time with Viking Volleyball. Viking Volleyball, like all Chico Unified School District Sports has no funding budget. The coaching staff (head coaches only) salary and EAL match officials are the only provided items by CUSD. It is up to the coaching staff and players to raise money to provide a pre-season schedule matches, tournaments, transportation, travel, officials, epuipment, uniforms, and home match workers.

Each year we set out to fundraise for all three levels and create a schedule that allows us to compete for league, section and state tittles. A big part of that is our equipment. Each year we buy 12-18 volleyballs and rotate them in to our supply. PV Sports Booster bought us new three court net system in 2015, and new nets in 2019 which we share with PE and Club Volleyball.

For the past 30 years are largest source of funding comes from our two camps: Viking Team Camp & North Valley Volleyball Camp, which we cohost with Chico High, making it truly a community service learning evemt. Any help getting volleyball players 6th through 12 grade to attend our camps helps the program funding. The second largest fundraisers are our touraments and preseason home events. Attendance and participation in our Viking Classic Tournaments and North Valley Challenge Series. Our largest outside source of funding is the PV Sports Boosters' Car Rafel Fundrasiser. This awesome annual event helps not just volleyball, but all PVHS sports. We also have had annual dontations by individuals & businesses. Jack Yerman $2,000.00 in 2019 and Club Chico Volleyball $1,000.00 (annual for 30 years) have been awesome.
