Parents expect staff/volunteers to provide quality care for their children while they are attending our programs. Your primary responsibility is the oversight and safety of the participants. If you are using your personal cell phone, you cannot be providing the quality of care and supervision that is expected.
As the use of personal electronic equipment is distracting, it must be kept off during program hours. Use of personal cell phones, cameras, computers, etc. are strictly forbidden during work hours. This includes use of any social media.
Volunteers may not use personal cameras or cell phones to take pictures or videos of program participants. Volunteers may not share pictures or videos of program participants on social media.
Each site is issued two-way radios that are for adult use only. Each radio costs about $475 and adults must protect and care for the equipment.
Music that is played must be “kid friendly.” This means the music is free of profanity, sexual innuendos, alcohol, drug or tobacco references, violence, and religious messages. The best option for playing music is using Pandora tuned to a kid radio station such as Kidz Bop or Disney. Only play kid friendly radio stations, do not try to filter a non-kid station.
