During swim time, staff are expected to give their full attention to camper supervision—100% focus, no exceptions. Each staff member will be assigned a specific supervision area at the pool. This may include being in the water or overseeing nearby areas such as the grass or picnic tables. Please come prepared to swim every day!
Lifeguards will be on duty at all times. Be friendly and work to build positive relationships with them—they're part of the CARD team too, and we're all here to support one another.
Swim time will be split into two daily rotations: one for younger campers and one for older campers. Be sure to know your assigned group and location each day.
Summertime Delight will take various field trips throughout the summer. These include, but are not limited to the following-
Bounce houses and a magician will be scheduled for various weeks onsite at camp
Off-site field trips to Rare Air, Cal Skate, Tinseltown, and Bowlero. We will be providing private transportation for all trips, except for Tinseltown where we will walk.
All camp participants must complete a permission slip, this includes staff under 18 and all Youth Leaders.
Camp shirts are required for ALL staff and ALL campers.
Weekly BBQ is on the last day of camp each week. Campers will receive a hot dog, chips, juice, and a slice of watermelon. Veggie dogs are available upon request.
We will provide hot dogs for all campers and staff who would like one. The camp Director will be in charge of the BBQ weekly, and staff will assist groups as they go through the BBQ line. Youth Leaders will be asked to assist with chips, juice, and gathering supplies.
Please do your part in keeping camp areas clean! Encourage campers to check their area for any trash or leftover supplies from arts/crafts.
As you utilize supplies, please put supplies back where you found them. If we are running low on an item, please communicate with the camp Directors.
Chores will include, but are not limited to the following:
Check camp areas for any trash and throw it away. Check-in around benches and under tables, as trash may be hidden!
Gather any clothing that has been left behind (including cubbies) and place it in lost and found.
Wipe down and stow away tables and benches at the end of each use. (morning or afternoon when they are being put away).
Lock up all camp areas before leaving at the end of the day or anytime the entire group is leaving the camp area.
Make sure to return your walkie-talkie to its charger and ensure it is plugged in correctly.
Let's work together to support each other in keeping camp clean! TEAMWORK makes the DREAMWORK!
