Beginner App Development

Period 4

Entrepreneur App

Kamari B. (12th grade)

The purpose of the app is to give advice to those who would like to become an entrepreneur. My main aim of the app is to make it a “Learn with me app”. I have unique icons and titles that guide the user to the questions that they may have and or to give the users the advice that they need about becoming an entrepreneur. So, first starting off with the home page which is screen 1 you’ll see the title of my app “ Steps on how to become an entrepreneur” and on the lower right side of the screen you’ll see an orange button titled “ Next. Which will lead you to the First icon and piece of small information. Screen 2 has a unique pink paint brush because it represents the creation of your idea and you on becoming your own boss. The advice that is stated on screen 2 is “ Find out your interest/ talents and give 3 important reasons why and how it would impact you and many others.” This is important because it helps set the tone for your own vision and you’ll see how beneficial it’ll be for you in fulfilling the needs of others. On the bottom right side of the corner is where you’ll see an orange next button and you’ll click it to go to the next page where you'll see the next quote and icon. On screen 3 you'll see the gold graduation cap that represents the new path you're setting for yourself to become successful. The advice given on screen 3 is “ Make your passion become a source of yearly income”. Last but not least you’ll see the next slide and new piece of advice on screen 4. So on the bottom right side of the corner is where you’ll see an orange next button and you’ll click it to go to the next page where you'll see the next quote and icon. You’ll see the youtube icon that represents yourself as a boss and giver. The piece of advice given on screen is “Making yourself your own brand”.

NFL App

Robert B. (12th grade)

My app will be about the origin of football, I have 4 screens Creator ,Rules, NFL Now, and NFL Then. Not a lot of people know too much about football so that's what my app will teach them. The function of my app will start you on the home screen with a NFL logo as the background. You have four buttons you can press to learn more about it like if you click on “creator button” it will send you to a screen showing the father of football and explaining how he created it. If you click on the “Rules button” it will send you to a screen showing refs and the simple basic rules about football. If you were to click on the “NFL Now button” it would take you to a screen showing Tom Brady and telling you how much the wages have grown in the NFL now. And if you were to click on the “NFL Then button” a picture of jerry rice will appear and it will tell you about the physical and how good players weren't getting their worth of playing. Throughout all the screens you are able to go back to the home by clicking the “Home button” displayed on each screen.

Food App

Dayquan D. (12th grade)

My overall purpose of my app is to show people who eat the same food everyday that there's better food then just the food they're eating. Most people i know eat the same thing i eat but there are things they don't eat that i eat. The reason I'm doing food is because there's so much food in the world that people don’t know about what they can find out. The function of my app will be to go to a new screen and have pictures to show what the food looks like. Most of the inputs I will have are event programs and picturing programs. I may put some text programs as well.

Artist App

Jennifer D. (12th grade)

It is to show art is a lot of things. You don’t necessarily need to know how to draw to be an artistic person. As long as you like art and are a creative person, you are an artistic person. The way it starts off is by being like a quiz but ends up being a short “quiz” informing people, or the person taking the quiz, of some art practices I personally do and ask them about the practice they do themselves. It is very simple, all you have to do is input your answer, which is either a yes or no answer. Depending on the answer you give it gives you a different output. If you click the “No” button it takes you back to the main screen and it’s over. If you click the “yes” button you are congratulated and taken to the informative screen where, again, I tell you the art practices I like and use.

6th Gen Console App

Carlos G. (12th grade)

Once using this program, viewers are able to select one of the 4 console logos in the main menu, and it redirects them to information about these 6th gen consoles (like specs, lifespan, release date, units sold and costs.). On that designated console page (except for the gamecube), there is a “more facts” button you can click to go to another subpage giving more facts and images about the console/company. You can use the back buttons to go back to the page where you came from before (the last page to go back to will always be the main menu). One feature I implemented was the mute button for the music. Once clicking on the volume “on” symbol, it hides and shows the “off” symbol instead, making the music stop. Vice versa when you click on the “off” symbol and show the “on” symbol again with the music on.

Anime App

Jada H. (12th grade)

The purpose of my app is to educate people about anime and get them at least interested in the subject. It starts off telling them about some basic history of anime, like where it came from, when it originated, how it’s changed and some of the most popular genres. The next screens are talking about the three most popular genres: romance, shounen, and fantasy. There is a little description of the genre and at the bottom a little picture and name of an anime in that genre. I opted to go with some well known ones that I also think are great to watch. There are “next” and “back” button on each screen. The next buttons make a noise when pressed and the back buttons make no sound. On the last screen is just celebrating them getting through the app. There is also a “Play” button that plays a sample of the anime intro from Demon Slayer to let them hear the amazingness of anime intros.

GFuel App

Deandre L. (12th grade)

The overall purpose of the app is to promote GFuel and try to get more people to try it because one day I would like to be a partner for them and I could use all the help I could get for it. The way how the app functions are just pointed and click and the information will just pop up in front hopefully answering questions that people may have about gfuel if they never heard of them before and in hopes of maybe having them try it out for the first time. The only inputs needed will be clicking into and out of a box so you can move onto the next one.

LGTBQ App

Demetrius S. (12th grade)

The purpose of my game is to let people know what LGBTQ is instead of thinking we are weird and freaks. When are call out are our names and miss treated because of the way that we act, talk and carry our self.i wanted to make the game so people can know that we are somebody and not just people in the shadows because we are just as human as the people who are not apart of the community I feel like the functions for this app are pretty simple because it is like a hand book or a guide. The input and the output is that you press buttons to navigate through the different screens.

Game App

Daniel M. (12th grade)

The purpose of the program is to learn how to use it to make our own app and to show us how to code and design the different screens we want to make. The functionality of my app is to tell you what kind of game it is when you click the game button under the image it will bring to a new page and tell you what kind of game you are looking at. Also, you can go back to the game screen to pick the other game to tell you what that game is about. There are also back buttons to take you back to the main screen to start from the start if wanted. The two games I put where Super MeatBoy and 7Days To Die. The inputs I put in my game are images of the two games I talk about and output is that you learn what the game is about and what kind of game it is.

PB&J App

Thamara N. (12th grade)

I would have liked to add audio to my start screen or throughout the whole game even though there are some clips of audio within the app. Or possibly add more screens to where you can interact with. With this app its pretty easy to navigate through and again its pretty straightforward. You're just literally clicking through three screens.

Fruit App

Osayi O. (12th grade)

The purpose of my app is to educate others about Exotic Fruits. There are so many fruits that many people don't even know exist such as Lychee or a Mangosteen. I want to be the one that gets the unknown information out there into the world. When using my app you start off at the home screen, there you will be welcomed and given the option to choose between 4 different types of exotic fruits Pomegranate, Starfruit, Lychee, and Mangosteen, clicking on any of these will take you to a trivia screen, displaying a picture and information about whatever fruit you’ve chosen. when your done reading the information there’s a button in the top right corner of the screen that will take you to the next exotic fruit. Once you’ve gotten to the mangosteen screen you will see a button in the top right corner that says “Next”, clicking on it will take you to a victory screen, congratulating you for reading all the trivia. With each button pressed a different action will occur pressing the button in the top right corner of any of the trivia screens will take to the next one and the button in the top left corner will take the previous trivia screen.

Pasta App

Rosemarie S. (12th grade)

The app I have created is about pasta. The purpose of this app was to educate others on popular types of pasta, which is a type of food that everyone knows and I believe everyone likes. There is also a section about the pasta I like and its history. There is a title screen, a page that describes the origins of three popular pasta types and shows pictures and a page on my favorite pasta and why it is my favorite pasta. There are buttons in all of these pages that lead to the other screens. The input of this app is if the user clicks the button that says “Click to learn more!”I can assume that if the user clicks that button then they are curious about the topic. The output is the information the computer is giving to the user, so that would be the information about the pasta.

Guitar Tuner App

Julius W. (12th grade)

My app is a Guitar Tuning App, and it consists of 3 different types of Guitar sounds that you can use to Tune your Guitar! The app may seem complex but it was rather simple. I used basic functions such as Sound, Image, Screen, etc. First I added all of the screens. It consists of 3 screens. Then I added the buttons, and images so the user can interact with them. Last I added the code and sound. This part took a little bit of time to do since it was a LOT OF CODEE! You’d Click the Start button and it would take you to the Guitar Home Screen, from there you’d select the choice of your Guitar (Image & Button), Finally, it takes you to the Tuning Screen where you click on the Letters for the sound to tune your Instrument
