Emma Watson is an actress as well as an activist . She is best known for her role in the Harry Potter movies as Hermione Granger. She is also involved with the United Nations and speaks out for women's rights.

Emma Watson was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris, France to two British lawyers. she moved to Oxfordshire, England at the age of five. there she attended a school for the preforming arts, where she learned at a young age how to sing dance and dance. at age nine she auditioned for the role of Hemione Granger, the role that would forever change her life. she got the role and would portray the character from 2001 to 2011. for ten years millions of fans watched as the actor grew up in front of there eyes. The series was a huge success and brought millions upon million of dollars. her fame grew instantly with the franchise. the 11 year old actor debut, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was a huge success. the film made more than $974 million worldwide. It was nominated for three Academy Awards, and seven BAFTA Awards.

The actor continued to work outside the harry potter series getting roles in many other movies and series. from 2011 to 2014 she branched away from acting to continue her education at Brown University and continue modeling. she got an bachelor degree in English. in 2014 she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill ambassador and helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe, which calls for men to advocate gender equality. she continues to stand up for women's rights.

She has made speeches and marches for women equality around the world. She is also the founder of He for she campaign. The He for she campaign is campaign founded by Emma Watson that gets men and women alike to stand up for the unfair gender inequalities. Women rights have been a women’s issue but in reality men also face unfair gender stereotypes as well as women. This shows how gender stereotypes impact us and the word around us. She says the feminism is equality and if you support equality then you are a feminist.
