Policies and Procedures for PVE Library Media Center
The media center hosts open checkout Monday through Thursday mornings from 7:30AM until 8:00AM. Open checkout is also held Monday-Thursday from 2:00 until 2:30. School personnel have access to the media center during the times in which the school is unlocked. If they need to check out materials and the media specialist is not available, they leave their materials in a stack with their name on the top or send Mrs. Godfrey a list of titles with the book barcode via email.
Teachers are allowed to check out any resources they need. Materials should be returned when they are no longer needed for instruction. Materials are expected to be returned in the same condition as they were upon check-out.
Students in grades PreK through 3 are allowed to check out one book. Students in grades 4-6 may check out two books. If additional materials are needed to coincide with classroom instruction and/or student interest, it’s handled case by case. Fines or replacement cost are issued to those patrons who do not return their books and/or books that are damaged. Notices will be sent to classroom teachers.
