The Chesterfield Elementary School Counseling Department supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and personal growth. We partner with students, families, and staff to help every child feel safe, supported, and successful.
📚 Classroom Counseling Lessons
Monthly classroom lessons help students build skills in friendship, communication, emotional regulation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and other social-emotional topics.
💙 Individual Short-Term Counseling
School counselors provide short-term, solution-focused support for students experiencing school-related social, emotional, or behavioral concerns. School counseling is not therapy or long-term mental health treatment, but counselors can help connect families with community resources when additional support is needed.
🤝 Small-Group Counseling
Short-term groups provide students with opportunities to learn and practice skills such as friendship, coping strategies, emotional regulation, and social skills.
👨👩👧 Collaboration & Resources
School counselors work closely with families, staff, and community partners to support student success and connect families with resources when needed.
