All About Mr. C
Hello and welcome to sixth grade! My name is Rob Cochrane and I will be working alongside Mrs. Sakimura to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my eleventh year at Chesterfield Elementary School and my first year teaching 6th grade. I am excited to have a great year and to meet you all!
To begin with, I'd like to tell you about my educational background before Chesterfield. I graduated from Rutgers University-Camden in December 2013 with my Bachelor of Arts in English and my K-6 certification; I had my student teaching and practicum experience in Collingswood, Camden, and Merchantville. Following that, I worked for a year in fifth grade at Winslow Elementary School as a math & science teacher before earning my Students with Disabilities certification in August 2015.
That decision was what led me to Chesterfield Elementary School as an Interim Resource Teacher in September 2015. I enjoyed everything about teaching in Chesterfield and was thrilled when Mr. Heino offered me the position as the Gifted & Talented Teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. Topping the previous feeling, I was ecstatic when Mr. Heino then offered me the position of fourth grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. I stayed there until moving to fifth grade from 2021-2023, and was back in fourth grade for the last two years.
Outside of school, I enjoy the simple things such as reading, hiking, running, bowling, disc golf, regular golf, swimming, watching sports, going to the beach, hanging out with my daughter, and spending time with friends and family. My favorite things to talk about are fantasy football, the Eagles, and the Phillies.
