Chessington School offers a broad range of curriculum sport that students will engage in throughout their time at school. In years 7-9 students are setted into core or prime pathways that best suit their academic and sporting needs.
The goal is that all students throughout the school follow a universal pathway whereby they able to leave school with baseline knowledge of sport and a desire to adopt life long sporting pursuits. Those on the core pathway will continue the journey towards this in y10/11 by engaging in competitive sporting situations. They will be given opportunities to adopt leadership roles and become capable of understanding key principles of health and fitness
The prime pathway will be supported in taking BTEC or GCSE courses (see these pages for more details). This is with aspirations to go onto further education and careers that are reflective of their sporting abilities, theoretical understanding and general interests.
