We are surrounded by the astounding beauty of nature every day. But, how much do we actually know about these different forms of life? With the help of the Natural Resources Conservation Academy at UCONN, our mission is to help foster the education of students and increase their engagement in nature.
The Cheshire Conservation Connection aims to bridge the fun of the trail to an awarenesses of nature. Whether it be taking a casual stroll with friends or zooming along on roller blades, the trail is used for so many different things. But, sometimes, nature can fade into the background. Our goal is to highlight the biodiversity along the trail. Through the use of sign and activities, we hope that you become more aware and educated about the important forms of life that make up the unique ecosystem along the trail. With that, learning doesn't stop when you return home. Via this site and the Cheshire Public Library, it is our mission to continue the expoloration process into our outdoor world.
We would like to additionally thank our adult mentors for this project, Signian Mcgeary and Kathryn Hanlon for volunteering their time and expertise on a wide array of topics. An additional thank you to the UCONN NRCA Team, Nicole Friedland, CHS teacher Tom Lewoc, Cheshire High School, Cheshire Public Schools, the Town of Cheshire, the Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire, the Orchard Valley Garden Club of Southington and many more influential in our project.
