2nd Grade Home Project

Make an instrument (or instruments) from items found at home (especially in the recycling bin.)

Objective: Students explore sound with different combinations of items. Students use innovation to create their instrument.

Student does the majority of exploration and building of the instrument. Adults or older siblings help with tasks that are not safe or easy for 2nd grade inventors/musicians. (Glass may not be used in the instrument.)

In the assigned week, 2nd grade students will bring their instruments to music class. Throughout the week, students will use their instruments to create and perform a rhythmic composition.
