ABOUT ME

Hello there! My name is Mrs. Simpson, and I am so glad you will be in my class this year! I have been teaching for 23 years. I'm a little bit of a nerd and love to read, watch documentaries, and solve puzzles. I have two dogs!!! One is a great Dane (Keeley) and the other is a German short-haired pointer (Jessie). I am married and have one daughter who is 17 and going into the 12th grade. (She also attended Dakota Valley.) I love STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). In fact, I have a masters in STEAM education. I have some fun activities and projects planned for this school year!

ME AS A KID

When I was your age, I loved to skateboard, swim, and play sports with my friends. My favorite subjects in school were reading, art, and PE.

FUNNY STORY: When I was four years old, I was determined to go to school. I gathered up some books (I pretended I could read) and my dachshund, Waldo. We walked by ourselves all the way to the nearby elementary school where my older brother and sister attended. Luckily, my sister was outside at recess and saw me. The school called my worried mother who came to pick me up. I guess being a teacher was my destiny!
