Dr. Katie Coggin

Gifted Learning Coordinator

I am entering my 6th year at Challenge School and my 17th year of teaching! I am the gifted coordinator for CHL and primarily co-plan and co-teach with elementary students. I have worked with gifted students PK-12th grade and have my doctorate in gifted education. Outside of school I love spending time with my twin daughters who will be in 4th grade this year!

Gifted Learning Teacher

Laura Horton-Depass is originally from the Chicago area, where she taught high school English for many years. Then she met her husband on a dive boat in Mexico, so she married and moved to Colorado. Laura comes to us from Aurora Public Schools, where she taught at the Aurora Quest magnet school for gifted students, and she also taught at The Ricks Center for Gifted Students on the University of Denver campus. She loves to read, scuba dive, snowboard, and garden. She has a son in 6th grade, a husband who recently retired from the Army, two huskies, 3 tree frogs, and a multitude of fish. As you can see, she is a die-hard Cubs fan.
