AP Chemistry is designed to be the equivalent of a college freshman-level chemistry course content. The fundamental assumptions and structure of chemistry are rigorously studied with emphasis on the quantitative aspects of chemical systems. Extensive laboratory work is an integral part of the curriculum. This course is structured around the four big ideas of the AP Chemistry curriculum as specified by the College Board. The big ideas are:
Big Idea 1: Scale, Proportion, and Quantity
Big Idea 2: Structure and Properties
Big Idea 3: Transformations
Big Idea 4: Energy
If students would like to purchase their own goggles, here are a document that links to acceptable pairs
Note: Goggles will be provided if students do not wish to purchase their own pairs, these will be used (and cleaned!) goggles from previous years.
