Supporting Belonging, Growth, and Transfer Readiness for Chemeketa STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics) Students
The purpose of the Chemeketa STEM Fellowship program is to support students in launching their STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) academic and professional careers at Chemeketa Community College. Students selected as fellows in the program will receive scholarship funding up to the full cost of attendance at Chemeketa for two years and will join a supportive community of STEM students and faculty at Chemeketa dedicated to growing and learning together.

Full Description of Program and Requirements:
Selected Students will be named as Chemeketa STEM Fellows for two years of study at Chemeketa as long as they continue to meet eligibility requirements. The benefits of the Chemeketa STEM Fellows program include:
Scholarship funding up to your expected full cost of attendance at Chemeketa (https://www.chemeketa.edu/cost-aid/tuition-fees/). This scholarship is based on need, is applied after all other grants and scholarships, and cannot exceed $15,000 per year.
Participation in a cohort of other STEM Fellows that includes a 2-credit first year experience course in your first term and ongoing workshops and field trips during your years at Chemeketa.
The first year experience course, workshops, guest speakers, and field trips are designed to help students explore and develop their STEM areas of interest, develop their abilities and habits as a successful student, and plan for a university transfer.
The STEM Fellows cohort is also designed to provide a supportive community of other students and faculty for STEM Fellows through their time at Chemeketa.
Mentoring from Chemeketa STEM faculty and STEM peers, along with focused advising and coaching to prepare for transfer to a university to complete your STEM degree.
Eligibility:
Pell Eligible (must submit a FAFSA)
First Year Student (less than 30 credits completed)
Full-Time Student Status
Pursuing a transfer STEM program of study (AAOT in transfer STEM fields or AST-CS, AST-Bio)
Placed into both college level math and writing (MTH111z, possibly with coreq) and WR121z
Selected students must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 at Chemeketa and remain engaged with the Chemeketa STEM Fellows cohort activities to maintain their continued eligibility.
Even if you don’t have a perfect academic record in STEM or are not sure what specific STEM field you want to pursue, we would like you to apply.
