artwork: John N. - Vaquero, 2025
We invite you to participate in the 2026 Student Art Show. This exhibit will feature a juried selection from current students at Chemeketa Community College. We invite all currently enrolled students to apply for a chance to showcase their work, receive awards, and participate in a collaborative celebration of artists at Chemeketa.
Applications must be submitted with work, in person, no exceptions. There is no application fee. Awards will be announced at the reception on May 20. Please scroll for more information or check the F.A.Q. page.
This show is juried, which means artists and their work will be individually selected to participate in the show. An external juror will finalize their selection on May 11 and artists will be notified by May 12 whether they've been accepted or to pick up their artwork.
The juror will provide a statement detailing the selection process and the gallery will present this statement to view in person and online.
Applicants must be currently enrolled students at Chemeketa Community College. Students from any campus are welcome to apply. Applicants must fill out their agreements with their student email.
Artists must submit work made between 2025 and 2026 school year. The work does not have to be work created for class. Only two pieces may be submitted per artist. Artwork must be able to fit through the doors of the college. Artwork that is 2-dimensional must be ready to hang on the wall (in a frame, on mat board, on canvas). Artwork must be directly made by the artist, with all collaborators or direct references properly credited in the description.
During open submission, a completed gallery agreement and up to two artworks made between 2025 and 2026 must be delivered to the gallery attendant. The paperwork is available online or in person at Building 3, Room 122.
Fully complete the gallery agreement (linked here and on the sidebar, as well as an example of a fully completed agreement). Ensure all fields requiring signatures are filled, ensure that the inventory list is filled with both declared values and for sale. (In the event of an artwork being not for sale, it must be listed as NFS). Please feel free to come by the gallery for guidance on your paperwork if you are confused.
Ensure any artwork is accompanied by all components required to properly display it (wires for hanging from the ceiling, 2-dimensional work being ready to hang, etc).
There are a selection of awards to be distributed at the reception. The juror will select a first, second, and third place award to present. In addition, different departments from the college participate in picking artwork to purchase and to award. These financial awards will be released to student accounts, depending on account eligibility.
Artists with questions are urged to email Amadeo Rehbein ARehbein@chemeketa.edu to be connected with guidance and help with navigating eligibility.
