Dr. Schalk's 2nd Grade

Welcome to room 22! It will be an ocean of fun and learning! My name is Dr. Angelina Volpe Schalk and this is my 18^th year with the district. In the SDC, I have taught all grades K-4 and 6-8. Previously I taught 9^th-12^th grade English and 1^st grade in Philadelphia.

I’m thrilled to be in second grade and to help your children to grow academically and socially as a learning community.

Personally, I met my husband, Ryan, in college at Villanova. We married in 2004 on the beach. Our son Dominic arrived in 2008 and is the apple of our eye! He is a survivor of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a childhood cancer, and fills our heart with joy each day. Santa brought Dominic a puppy, Charm, in 2016; she isn’t always charming but we still love her! I can’t wait to get to know your child and your family.
