Reading/Language Arts

The core of our program is from Wonders. Wonders is the reading program from McGraw Hill Publishing, which Cheltenham School District has adopted beginning August 2020. It is a state-of-the-art reading program which fully integrates digital resources that match and extend the physical materials. There are 6 themes in the program. Each theme consists of 5 reading selections, a balanced mix of fiction, non-fiction and biography.

Fundations instructs students in phonemic awareness and word study. Additionally, Fundations sets the foundation for writing with the direct teaching of handwriting, spelling and the basic skills for capitalization and punctuation.
