Mission

The mission of the Chelsea Public Schools Library program is to ensure student success in an information-driven society by:

  • providing students with the skills to become independent critical readers, thinkers, and ethical users of information,

  • providing resources in a variety of formats,

  • encouraging lifelong reading for pleasure and information,   

  • collaborating with all others in the school community, and

  • motivating students to reach their unique potential.

Vision Statement

The Chelsea Public Schools library program is a key contributor to the Chelsea Public Schools' vision of ensuring that all students achieve at high levels, think critically, and develop their unique potential for success in the 21st century.

Clark Avenue Middle School Library 

The purpose of the Clark Avenue Middle School Library is to:

  • foster a love of reading and life-long learning,

  • work cooperatively with the school community to support and enhance the educational environment and strengthen district's curricula,

  • assist students and staff with locating and accessing appropriate resources (digital and print) to support student success, 

  • promote implementation of digital literacies into classroom curricula to better prepare students for the 21st century,

  • provide students with tools and experiences to help them become critical thinkers and users of information, 

  • stimulate creative thinking, intellectual curiosity & high aspirations, and,

  • provide all Clark Avenue Middle School students with a safe, comfortable, resource-rich environment with up-to-date technologies for scholarly research, quiet study, and recreational reading.
