Welcome to the Chelan Music Department. On the following pages you will find links to Google classroom and Zoom meetings for all synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. Please make sure to reach out to your music teachers Mrs. Hoffman, Mr. Soost, and Mr. Burdick through this period of learning to stay connected to your fellow musicians. Lets continue to grow and enjoy making music together!

This screenshot above is from the performance collaboration between the Chelan HS Concert Band and the Valley Winds Community Concert Band. Members of our local community band prepared, recorded, and will perform virtually alongside our high school musicians. Other bands will include the CMS 6th Grade Band, Combined 7th/8th Grade Band, and the CHS Jazz Band. Please help spread the word and enjoy an evening of music on Wednesday night, or at any moment in time following the release. There are some benefits of virtual performances!
FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Please enjoy the Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) Honor Band and Chelan's very own Levi Jeffries and Luke Simmons as recorded back in February 2021 as part of a 3 day Virtual Music Festival. Professional YouTube star Christopher Bill is responsible for bringing these musicians together from across the globe in this virtual performance.

REHEARSAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Under the newest set of WA State Health Department Guidelines we will resume in person rehearsals on February 5, 2021 beginning with HS Band and add all MS Bands the following week. The MS Schedule is still being crafted, so look for updates here and through Google Classroom. Helpful links to help keep everyone safe are:

It is a YouTube Premier Event Scheduled to go live at 7:00 pm. New CHS Marching Band Uniforms to arrive in January 2021!
Chelan HS 2020 Graduate Christopher Knight models the new marching band uniform. A BIG thanks to everyone that helped in the design process and supported this project. We look forward to a time when we can perform for our community!
About Mr. Burdick
Mr. Burdick
Mr. Burdick graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1999 with undergraduate degrees in Trumpet Performance and K-12 Music Education. He earned a Masters in Music Conducting from Sam Houston State University and the American Band College in 2010. He also became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2010 and earned his renewal in 2020. He has been teaching at CMS/CHS since 2006. He enjoys spending time on the water with his wife and children.

With so much instruction being delivered through the use of online resources and the abundance of screen time, the choice was made to create virtual performances instead of using SmartMusic. Please stay tuned for our first multi-video performance in the near future!
