The "Check M8" Philosophy

I founded this company on a principle I learned early on: construction is not just labor; it is strategy. I chose the name Check M8 as a play on the final move in chess—Checkmate. To me, every project is a board filled with moving pieces. My duty is to make calculated steps to keep the project moving forward. We aim to anticipate challenges, but more importantly, when obstacles do arise, we find solutions. My goal is to navigate those complexities so that when we reveal the final product, the result is undeniable. Job done. CheckM8!

From the Ground Up

My journey began at age 17 with nothing but a broom and a shovel, keeping job sites clean. I didn't start at the top; I spent years in the field learning the fundamentals—from framing and drywall to electrical and plumbing basics. That hands-on experience gave me the perspective needed to eventually lead crews as a Superintendent. I understand what it takes to get the job done because I’ve been there, working alongside the team.

The Winning Move

Along the way, I also earned my Class A Commercial Driver’s License and gained experience driving an 18 wheeler coast to coast—from California to New York. That time on the road ingrained a deep commitment to safety and discipline.

I established Check M8 General Construction, Inc. to bring that same focus to your project. For me, "Check M8" isn't just a name—it’s a feeling. It’s that moment when the City Inspector signs the permit, the client takes a step back to admire the work, and we know we’ve delivered a product that builds confidence.
