Meet The Directors!
I have been teaching choral music at East for 26 years and every year brings new experiences! I am always learning and growing and my biggest hope for my students is that they discover their full potential as performers and people. The choir is not MY choir, but OUR choir. My philosophy of teaching can be summed up into one word - OWNERSHIP. The more ownership you have of your learning and class experience, the more you will get out of it.
This is my 17th year of teaching, and 15th year at East. It is my priority to create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for our students. Creating choral music is a partnership. It requires a passion for music, trust, vulnerability, and a willingness to take a risk. I believe that the collective expression of a chorus singing together has the power to lift spirits and transform lives.
