01. What is a Laser Cutter?

In this YouTube (2 minutes), you will learn what is a laser cutting (basics only)?

In this YouTube (1 minute), you get to see a laser cutter in action.

In this YouTube (2 minutes), you will learn which materials can be laser engraved or cut?

The above YouTubes are selected by your teachers but you are free to source for more.  The aim is for you to present your learning on what you have learnt in any format that you choose.  Please include this in your e-portfolio.  Make sure that your teacher(s) have access to your e-portfolio so that we can report on your progress effectively to your parents / guardians.

02. Lightburn Interface

In this video (20 minutes), you will learn about all the essential skills for you to create your outcome.  I suggest you play around on Lightburn with your team member while watching it and you will be amazed how much you can learn just in one lesson!

Watch this: Difference between Fill and Offset Fill (3 minutes).  Basically Offset Fill will save you time when you are engraving.

03. Text Related Skills

In this video (7.42 minutes), you will learn about how to create interesting text related skills.

Tip 1: Highlight, Go to Tools and choose Offset shapes to create a border round your shape. Start from 6:50 on the video.

04. Curve Your Text

In this video (3.3 minutes), you will learn about how to draw curves and curve your text based on your curve.  And then how to tell Lightburn not to cut your line.

05. Tab or break your cutting so your alphabet does not drop out

In this video (6.3 minutes), you will learn about how to improve your cutting so your shapes do not fall out.  For example, if you name has a B and you don't want a hollow B.

A shorter video (4.32 minutes) but you get the idea within the first 2 minutes on how to ensure your text like A or O or B do not drop off.

06. Using Google Slides to create a design suitable for Laser Cutting

In this video (5.4 minutes), you will learn about how to quickly create a design suitable for laser cutting.

In this video (2 minutes) you will learn about how to make your own custom shapes in Google Slides for laser cutting.

In this video (1.36 utes) you will learn about how to use the line tool to make unique shapes of your own in Google Slides for laser cutting.

Using this link convertio.co  to convert your designs in Google Slides from your Google Drive into dxf file format for laser cutting.  Email your dxf to your teacher or student with the iMac with Lightburn to convert to a design ready for Laser Cutting.

06. Using Google Drawing / Canva to create a design suitable for Laser Cutting
