On October 21, 2024 the Carrboro Men’s Soccer team played against Granville Central for their Senior Night. At the start, the teams were tied with no goals being scored. Eventually Granville Central scored, leading 1-0. This seemed defeating, but it was only the beginning. The Carrboro Men’s Soccer Team scored one after the other, and took the lead. With the momentum of the goals scored and the support from the students the Jags finished out strong. After a long game, the Carrboro Men’s soccer team won 4-2.
The seniors celebrated the win with their friends and family. The team gathered to commemorate their seniors.
There have been many moments enjoyed by the Seniors, but there are a few that are especially memorable.
Senior Breckin Harris said, “My favorite moment from playing on the soccer team was getting to beat Severance [former Junior Varsity] and the NCSSM team earlier this year, and getting to trash talk him after the game.”
For some of the Seniors, moments against DSA were their favorite. Senior Braden Billy enjoyed, “getting the flag at DSA my junior year” along with Senior Gabe Teles’s favorite memory, “PDQ team dinner at Brett’s house before playing DSA my junior year.”
Other Senior’s favorite memories were specific goals and achievements made during their years on the Soccer team.
Senior Jordan Ferrer’s favorite memory was his Sophomore year playoff run to the State Quarterfinals. Senior Daithi Fitzgerald’s favorite memory was his first goal against Vance County.
Senior Roberto Ramirez’s favorite memory was scoring a “screaming header against South Granville”. Senior Noah Simmon’s favorite memory was scoring twice against Gibbons while on the JV team. Senior Alex Yanes favorite memory was “scoring three goals in one game and obtaining the flag”.
Nearing the end of their season, the Seniors remind their teammates to enjoy their time on the team and continue working hard.
