The Music Festival hosted bands at 13 different locations this year, spanning from Lanza’s Cafe to Belltree across downtown Carrboro.
The (new) ArtsCenter hosted seven bands this year, including the Durham Ukulele Orchestra. “I'm excited that The Whiskey Honeys are playing tonight.” Tyler Dennis, the Associate Director at The ArtsCenter, said, “I know some people in that band, it’s a really good one." Dennis was one of the main employees that helped organize the bands in the building for the Music Festival.

“The ArtsCenter’s been around for 50 years, and I’m pretty sure they’ve been involved in the music festival as long as it’s been going on,” said Dennis, “This is our second year having the music festival in this location, though.”
When asked about their favorite part about the festival overall, Dennis responded with how the festival helps The ArtsCenter. “I think it’s really cool that it gets people into the building, a lot of people don’t know about all the different things that we have going on in here.”
“We always have new art galleries up every month, we have a lot of cool classes going on,” said Dennis, expanding on what all the ArtsCenter has to offer and how the Music Festival helps bring in new people, “we have a maker’s space that’s open for people to come and use our equipment and make whatever they want. So, I hope that people also look around and see the other things that go on at The ArtsCenter. The music brings them in, and then maybe they’ll come back.”
