I am so excited for another great year in fifth grade. This is my 7th year teaching fifth grade at Northside. One of my goals this year is to embed joy and fun into everything we teach. I also want students to learn the importance of making sure that we examine history to find the voices that are not normally heard. I graduated from the University of North Carolina with my bachelors in Elementary Education and I attended graduate school at Elon University to get my AIG certification. I love elephants and hot cups of tea. I enjoy embarking on random adventures and finding the best sushi.

I'm Tequila Powell. I'm so excited for another year in 5th grade! I previously taught 2nd and 3rd grade here in Navigator Nation. I graduated from North Carolina Central University with my bachelors in Elementary Education. I also have a master's in Elementary Reading and Literacy. I enjoy reading and listening to old school music. I love elephants and Duke basketball!
