My name is Emma Gorski and I spend my time drawing, playing video games (mainly Minecraft and Ultrakill), and listening to lots of music.
Why I've decided to pursue 3D Modeling & Animation (And hopefully Game Design next year) is because for a long time, I've always found joy in playing video games, especially with Minecraft. Now with Minecraft, there exists a large modding community and I've always enjoyed seeing all of these mods and what they do, and I find it really cool how they dive into the game's code and do practically anything with it in order to make a really cool mod.
My design philosophy is to draw out my ideas, and even write some of them.
Now, I am not that experienced with digital art and animation, having been a traditional artist all my life. However, I do know a bit on how the Unreal Game Engine works and I've even made a short game with it. I wouldn't say I'm skilled at it, but in comparison to what I do know it is my best skill.
I am also fluently skilled in 3ds Max Autodesk. I know my way around the system and how to create models and animate them!
As said in the previous section, I have made a short game before on the Unreal Game Engine. It was on my own, and it was during a summer camp I had done. I do have plans to continue working on this game, making it better and longer as its only one level so far.
I've made many models so far on 3ds Max, such as an Anchorblade Scene, an animation for a Machine in a workshop, and a many more! I have a whole semester's worth of modeling and animation experience on 3ds Max, but I plan to continue working on it outside of school.
When I approach a new project, I like to begin with looking at some of my own interests, as well as getting out a sheet of paper and often drawing out my ideas, seeing what they look like outside of my own head, as well as questioning myself, "how does it stand out?"
What inspires a good portion of my work is actually a Minecraft SMP (Survival Multiplayer) that I'm a huge fan of, known as Content SMP. In it, the members of it mod the game in their own ways and they've always had such cool ideas and have made really amazing mods that I enjoy not only playing, but also learning about from their videos and also a few Q&A's. My sole project on the Unreal Game Engine, which I call Candlelight Castle, is actually based off of two of these Minecraft mods known as Charter and Neverend.
A dream goal of mine has always been to work at Mojang and help with the creative process on making Minecraft. It's one of my favorite games of all time and I really connect with it. I'd also like to make a game of my own, one that people can enjoy playing and talk about online and in the real world. I've always loved just what video games come out of Indie Studios, some popular ones that I find really cool are Hollow Knight by Team Cherry, Ultrakill by Hakita, and even Undertale and Deltarune, both by Toby Fox
