About the Teacher

I am Rob Frescoln and this is my first year as AVID Coordinator and AVID Elective teacher. I have been an educator for twenty-four years, taught 7th grade Science at Phillips Middle School for 11 years, worked as a Teacher Mentor, and most recently was an assistant principal across town at Culbreth Middle School. I am a graduate of the University of Virginia, where I received my BA in Environmental Science and my Masters of Arts in Secondary Science Education. My Masters of School Administration is from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I am excited to be back at Phillips, supporting students to build the skills they need to be successful in their future. I have high expectations for all my students, expectations that they will not only be successful academically but also become leaders here at Phillips as well as later in life. AVID is an amazing program that has the resources to help make those expectations a reality.
