3D Modeling & Animation

2025-2026
This was the first ever project I did on 3ds max, in this assignment I only used basic primitives for this assignment. For me making the snowman was really challenging because I had never touched a 3d modeling software before, the only knowledge had was from my brother telling and showing me his 3d modeling projects for his college classes. At the start of this assignment I didn't even know how to put a basic primitive in my scene, but I was able to finish it thanks to the tutorial video and my teachers help. I was really proud of the face of the snowman and also how the arms, because they were specially challenging I had to shape it to look like an arm, but then rotate it and copy it, which was really hard at the time since I had never done anything like it. Something else that I'm really proud of is how I was able to learn how to use computers more, all the other times I needed help with computers either my brothers would help me or my dad.

This was a challenging project for me, I had to use multiple complicate tools like ProBoolean, editable poly, bevel, affect pivot only, alignment, extrude, and array, it was difficult to learn all the tools but when I understood it made everything easier, if I had forgotten I would go back to brain buffet, Canva, or just use google. I struggled using the align tool at first because instead of aligning in the middle in was aligning in the side of the primitive instead, nut then I realized I had the wrong settings on the tool.

I'm the most proud of this project, because it shows the growth I've made throughout the quarter and how I able to take tools I used in other assignments to make this one. I used basic primitives then edited them using the tool edit poly, I Struggled a lot when adding the fine details in this project specially on the wings but with perseverance I was able to make something I could be proud of. My inspiration for this project was seeing all the Star Wars poster in the classroom and remembering how this ship and this lightsaber were my favorite the X-Wing Starfighter and the Darth Mauls lightsaber. At first I didn't have much detail in the cockpit and the wings of the x-wing but I was given advice and I took that to the fighter jet look as realistic as possible. I learned from making this project that even when you think you did everything you could for your work you can always add more.

Im Proud of this project the most, because I got out of my comfort zone and used things I've learned in different modules and applied it to this assignment, I used the unwrap UVW, Photoshop, and material editor the most for this project. I was inspired by my favorite movie Wicked, it has this magical book called the Grimmerie which helps the main character cast spells, I decided to make the book and her hideout. It was challenging to make the pages on the book, i was able to overcome this challenge by using unwrap UV and Photoshop.

I'm proud of this project because of the poses. To make Frankenstein pose and move like that I used bones, I used the tool biped and connected it to Frankenstein actual body. It was hard to size and shape the bipeds bones to fit Frankenstein's body but when I got the hang of it it all made sense, It also helped that only one side needed to be change because the bipeds arms and legs could be mirrored.

This my first time using the material editor. While making this assignment I learned how the material editor, materials, and maps worked, also how to assign it to objects. At first it was hard and overstimulating because of all the things available, but after learning what does what it made sense. I'm proud of how this looks, how the light reflects of the objects, and how the material shows up on the objects.
