More About the Author

I’ve been fascinated by reading since I can remember myself. One of my earliest memories is of sitting in the backseat of our family’s car in Pittsburgh, PA. Can you imagine — there were no car-seats for toddlers back then. Thank goodness I survived! Suddenly, I realized that I could understand the text written on signs we drove past!

Throughout my elementary school years, my Mom would take me to a public library in Maryland about once a week. I would almost lose myself in the riches I could simply borrow from their shelves. I completed each visit with a stack of books literally up to my chin. I won’t be offended if you call me a book worm.

I know now that many people struggle to learn how to read. One of my primary goals as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) educator is to pave the way to learning English successfully. Here in Israel, I lead groups of Hebrew-speaking kindergartens in songs and games so that they will become familiar with the sounds of English even before they try to learn to recognize the letters. This is how we naturally learn a language – by first associating a string of certain sounds with meaning. 

Fast forward a few decades and I’m now a grandma. Fortunately, books still thrill me. I confess to having bought many more than a few picture books to enjoy. One of my greatest pleasures is to camp out with my grandchildren on the sofa with a stack of beloved titles beside us. Fortunately, they enjoy doing that too! Even the youngest happily picks out his favorite board books and brings them to me.

It’s both a joy and honor to create my own picture books and share them with readers around the world. I aim to combine enthusiasm and wonder with concise and impactful language. Centuries of Jewish tradition ground my work while the hope to inspire others elevates me.  I would be grateful if my words encourage and empower children. I would love my books to foster self-confidence, creativity and resilience. I’ve been blessed to find a talented illustrator who has made my vision reality.
