Ms. Moon is your English Language Arts teacher for Chattanooga Preparatory's 8th grade class. She is also the Vanderbilt University homeroom teacher! She grew up in Charlotte, NC, but often escaped to other worlds through reading books and making art. After high school, she found her mountain home in Boone, NC when she decided to attend Appalachian State University. There, she studied Social Sustainability and became especially focused on the education field. Simultaneously, she spent a large portion of her time tutoring at her university and serving as a leader in a youth organization called "Arise," which worked to foster leadership in young adults.
After college Ms. Moon decided to fully commit to education because it encompassed all her greatest passions: reading, writing, educating, creating, and building impactful relationships with young adults. Two years later, she received her teaching license in English Language Arts and truly cannot imagine doing anything else with her life.
Ms. Moon is so excited to be living in a city again, while still having the mountains close by. She is certain she has found her new home in Chattanooga, TN and is so grateful to be a part of this incredible school. Go Sentinels!
