There are several ways that you can support and lead during DISC: Virtual!

PRESENT AN "ANYTIME - ANYWHERE" LEARNING

FIRST: Propose an asynchronous session (HERE).

THEN:

  • Receive more information related to formatting the PD session, using VoiceThread, and engaging participants.
  • Participate in a check-in with Emma Braaten during July to review session/s (schedule forthcoming).
  • Prepare an asynchronous professional learning session (materials due July 27).
  • Identify an artifact or a capstone activity that participants may complete in your session.
  • Choose to present your materials as a 50-minute session on Aug 4.
  • Provide feedback for participants on artifact or capstone activity.
  • Be entered into a drawing for presenter prizes.

FACILITATE & SUPPORT on AUGUST 4

FIRST: Review the opportunities for leading during DISC: Virtual.

      • Session Facilitators: Present your PD session/s (50-minute sessions)
      • Lightning Talks: Join other presenters in a fast-paced speed round to offer participants a short and concise presentation on a relevant topic or strategy. Each presenter will have 5 minutes to present.
      • Small Group Discussion Leader: Host small groups of teachers interested in exploring a pre-selected topic.

THEN: Volunteer to lead (HERE)

      • Receive more information related to formatting and schedule.
      • Participate in a check-in with Emma Braaten in late July to review and prepare for the event.
      • Be available August 4 - before, during, and/or after the event.
      • Be entered into a drawing for Facilitator prizes.
