Topic selection: What are you interested in learning more about?
Background research: Begin gathering more information on the topic you are interested in. Take notes on what you learn. Be sure to keep notes on the sources you use.
Develop questions: Now that you have learned more about the topic, what questions do you still have?
Design a research plan: Design an experiment to answer your question. Don't forget to identify a hypothesis for your experiment.
Conduct your experiment: Take notes and maybe even picture during the experiment to reference later.
Complete your Google slide deck: This Google slide deck will be how to share your science experiment with the judges. Please remember, your slide presentation may not be more than 12 slides.
Be sure to include:
Question
Research
Hypothesis
Testing Procedures
Data/Results
Conclusion (what you learned)
Complete the quad chart. This is a quick visual for judges about your project.
Complete the CGE Virtual Science Fair Intention to Participate Form: To indicate you are participating in the Science Fair by November 5th.
Submit your work: Submit both your slide presentation and your quad chart by November 19th for the CGES Virtual Science Fair Competition using the CGE Virtual Science Fair Submission Form.
Make a time table for the entire process
Science Buddies might help you with some ideas!
When researching your topic, use sites that end in .gov or .edu
Don't forget to keep a citations list of where you get your information from (you need at least 3 sources for elementary projects)
Keep notes of everything you do in a notebook!
