Chatham County Schools is pleased to present our 2026 published Young Authors across the district for our 35th year of hosting the program! We are very proud to share these original stories written by our talented students, whose work is organized by school below.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOUNG AUTHORS!
We are proud of you!
We are honored to congratulate the Young Authors of the following 42 selected stories (typically three from each school). They will be honored at the culminating ceremony on May 14, 2026, for their outstanding creative writing. Chosen from 467 submissions received this year, these works represent exceptional talent and imagination!
Authors are listed alphabetically by last name, along with their first name and the title of their piece. Click on an author’s name or story title to read their work.
We are proud to celebrate these 460+ Young Authors, who have chosen to publish their creative writing in 2026. Their pieces showcase a rich range of creativity, originality, and authentic voice, reflecting diverse writing styles and perspectives from across our elementary, middle, and K-8 schools.
Content is organized by school, followed by separate entries for each available library format. Within each school, student authors are listed alphabetically by last name. Students chose to publish their work either as PDFs or as e-books created with the Book Creator platform.
Visitors can explore each format independently. Select the PDF library to expand and view the alphabetical list of authors, or click the Book Creator icon to access that school’s digital collection of published works.
PDF publications coming soon! Please email the school librarian for updates.
