If you want to participate in this event, send us a one page brief about your innovative idea clearly explaining the problem your idea address and why you think its innovative or novel. Also, don't forget to mention in which format you want to present your idea.
This interactive lecture will highlight the current problems associated with how new therapies/treatment methods enter into physiotherapy practice without any scrutiny, scientific or otherwise. This problem has lead to widespread adoption of many ineffective practices into physiotherapy profession across the globe especially, in India. Further, the lecture will discuss key steps that are essential to evaluate a new treatment approach before integrating into routine clinical practice and teaching curriculum.

About the speaker
Dr Prakash V, MPT, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at Ashok & Rita Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Charotar University of Science and Technology, Gujarat, India. He has developed the Indian Stroke Scale, a patient reported functional stroke outcome measure applicable in Indian cultural context; published more than 15 peer reviewed articles in reputed international Web of Science Indexed journals such as Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, Physical Therapy, Current Science. His research interest lies in evidence-based stroke rehabilitation with a special focus on outdoor mobility promotion and outcome measurement. He has received Young Investigator Award (2016) from the World Stroke Organization, Switzerland.
This is an unique format in which both teachers and students will sit together in a panel and discuss about the current hot topic in academia: Proliferation of conferences and workshop and it's relevance to professional growth and development of physiotherapists. Based on the outcome of discussion, we hope to identify a set of criteria to guide students and faculties to decide whether a conference/workshop are worthy to attend or not.
In this symposium, invited physiotherapy clinicians both experienced and young will share their thoughts on knowledge and skills that are essential to excel as a physiotherapy clinician in Indian health care settings. This would be an ideal platform for students, faculties and clinicians to learn, discuss and share about their views on needs and demands of professional practice in real-life clinical practice
