Dr. C K Sumesh joined the Charotar University of Science and Technology- CHARUSAT, Changa, Anand in 2009 and currently working as Professor & Head, Department of Physical Sciences. Since then, he has made a substantial contribution to the institution's academic and research initiatives. The diverse approach to the academic journey spans teaching, research, administration, and university governance. The multidisciplinary approach and commitment to expanding the frontiers of scientific knowledge are reflected in the wide range of topics studied  within the area. The research group focuses on fabricating, treating, and testing materials and structures, particularly semiconductors in various forms. The study includes electronic transport properties in crystals, thin films, and nanostructures, with a special interest in metal-semiconductor interfaces. The work extends to applications of semiconductor nanomaterials in photodetectors, biosensors, electrochemical water splitting, and supercapacitors, with a specific emphasis on green hydrogen electrosynthesis for sustainable energy solutions. A key focus of group's  research lies in the field of green hydrogen electrosynthesis, where investigation is focused on  innovative approaches for the efficient production of hydrogen through electrochemical processes. The study has the potential to enable clean and sustainable ways for hydrogen generation by utilising semiconductor nanoparticles and optimising electrocatalytic interfaces, thereby solving the urgent global energy concerns.
