About This Unit
For this unit, we reviewed and practiced on building and soldering the electrical components for a Pixel Game Boy. We used our soldering skills to put the electronic components onto a printed circuit board (PCB) and create a functioning device. This unit gave me an opportunity to learn the electronic circuits and soldering skills. It helped me gain experience in using the solder iron and solder electronic components.

Soldering Electronics
I soldered Ceramic-Cap 104, the self-locking switch, the E-Cap 10uF, the 1K Resistor and the 5V buzzer on to the PCB board.Â
This is the back of the PCB board after my first soldering.
I soldered the 5 buttons onto the PCB board.
This is the back of my PCB board. I trimmed the excessive part of the wires.
I soldered the LED display and the USB Base onto the PCB board. There are only 5 pins on the lower row of the LED display.
This is the back of my PCB board after my third soldering.
I soldered the Chip Holder 40P onto the PCB board.
This is the back of my PCB board after my 4th soldering.
I soldered the two LED dot matrixes onto my PCB board.
This is the back of my PCB board after my 5th soldering.
I inserted the Chip STC15 onto the chip holder.
This is my back of my PCB board after finishing all of my soldering.
I put the button caps on to the buttons and the switch. I also assembled the outer shell of the Game Boy to protect the PCB board. This is a picture of the completely assembled game.

Problem Encountered
When I was trying to put the chip onto the chip holder on the PCB board, I couldn't fit the chip completely into the holder because the pins on the chips were not in a line. So I had to press one side of the chip against the desk to make the pins on that side in a line. I did the same thing to the other side as well. Eventually, I successfully insert the chip into the holder and made the game boy work.
