Visit HR before or no later than your first day of work for I-9 verification (legally required - compensation is withheld if you do not complete the I-9 verification)
Forward the I-9 verification email you receive after your appointment with HR to the department's Business Services Coordinator.
The BSC and Department Chair coordinate with the Graduate School and HR to complete your hiring actions.

After your application is submitted, you will undergo a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which is required of all applicants to UNC Charlotte jobs. The CBC is completed using your full legal name. Upon successful completion of the CBC, we are able to move forward with your hiring actions. There is no cost associated with the CBC.

Academic Affairs will initiate an email through the Criminal Background Check screening vendor, Infomart, using the email address that you on your job application in NinerTalent.
You will be sent an electronic invitation via email asking you to complete the online consent form. It is extremely important that the Criminal Background Check Application include your middle name. If you do not have a middle name, you should type "none" in the area where the middle name would be listed.
Once Academic Affairs is notified of satisfactory results, you will be notified via email that the Criminal Background Check is complete.
