Happy New Year to our incredible school community! 🎉 As we begin this new year, I want to thank our students, staff, and families for the energy, support, and commitment you bring to our school every day. We would like to thank you for making our Holiday Cheer events a Huge Success! We cherish your generous donations and tokens of appreciation. Your kindness, love, and support are unmatched.
Together, we will continue building on our successes, strengthening relationships, and striving for excellence in all we do.
We have the honor of recognizing a teacher who truly represents excellence in every sense of the word. Mrs. DeSa sets the bar high in the classroom, delivering outstanding results on the end-of-year SC READY assessment while making learning come alive through engaging, hands-on opportunities for students every single day. Beyond academics, she builds strong, meaningful partnerships with parents and is a constant source of encouragement and positivity for her colleagues. Her passion for school spirit is unmatched. She proudly represents her house with 100 percent commitment and enthusiasm, reminding us all what it means to show pride in our school community. Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. DeSa!
One of our 5th Grade Students, Hecti Pages is spearheading some outreach to our local community. Classes will compete to collect the most points by gathering coins and paper money in their designated jars. Points are earned for pennies and silver coins, while dollar bills deduct points, encouraging participants to place pennies in their own jar and dollar bills in a competitor's jar to sabotage them. The class with the highest score at the end of the contest wins, often with a prize, and the collective money is donated lowcountry orphan relief. This will run through the month of January.
“Lowcountry Orphan Relief supports children across the Lowcountry who are experiencing abandonment, abuse, or neglect by providing Care Kits filled with clothing, toiletries, books, and other essentials. Each Care Kit is created within twenty-four to forty-eight hours of a referral and is tailored to the child’s age, size, and immediate needs. Your school’s monetary drive directly helps us restock our shelves so we can respond quickly when a child needs support. Thank you for helping us make a meaningful difference for children right here in our community.”
We will announce our Cozy Up and Read Winter Challenge homeroom winner for PYP and MYP on Friday. All students will have until Thursday at 5:00 PM to log their minutes into Beanstack.
Ignite and Accelerate will resume next week on Jan. 13th. Please be on the look out for an email from Mrs. Hofstrom.
Challenge 7 is up on our Math in Action Site. We also have printed challenges in the front office. Please see the pictures below of students who went to the treasure box for completing the first challenge!!
Math Challenge is free and no sign-up is necessary.
All students 3rd to Grade 6th are invited to participate.
There will be 15 challenges during the 2025-2026 school year beginning on September 12, 2025.
Students who submit 12 challenges or more will be recognized at the end of the school year.
Refer to the Schedule Calendar for dates on when the challenges and their solutions will be available on this webpage.
