Gifted & Talented News
Gifted Nomination Window Now Open
Students in grades 3-12 who have NOT YET been identified as gifted, may be nominated for gifted identification testing using our online form (English | Spanish).
Parents, teachers, administrators, and students are encouraged to nominate students who demonstrate high academic achievement, performance, or potential. Testing will occur in the fall. Your child’s school will follow up with specific details for testing closer to the testing date.
Grades 6-12 will test in November (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test)
Grades 3-5 will test in December (Cognitive Abilities Test)
Artisically Gifted & Talented Nominations
As part of the opportunities we offer in the Arts for students, we administer the Gifted & Talented Artistic (GTR) nomination, adjudication, and notification process for students in grades 3 through 7.
Please see the nomination form HERE. Students may be nominated for evaluation in music, dance, drama, and visual art.
School Improvement Council Nominations
The Buist Academy School Improvement Council (SIC) has one parent vacancy. SIC is an advisory council to the principal that is focused on school improvement. It is made up of parent, teacher, and community representatives.
A representative of SIC will contact all individuals whose names are submitted into nomination prior to the election to confirm acceptance of the nomination.
Nominees will be invited to submit a brief statement about themselves and why they want to serve on SIC. All statements received will be included on the election ballot. This will give voters a chance to get to know each of the candidates.
Nominations will be accepted until October 5, 2021.
