School Improvement Council Nominations

The Buist Academy School Improvement Council has one parent vacancy. The SIC is an advisory council to the principal that is focused on school improvement. It is made up of parent, teacher, and community representatives.

A representative of the SIC will contact all individuals whose names are submitted into nomination prior to the election to confirm acceptance of the nomination.

Nominees will be invited to submit a brief statement about themselves and why they want to serve on the SIC. All statements received will be included in the election ballot. This will give voters a chance to get to know each of the candidates.

Nominations will be accepted until October 12, 2020.

Nurse's Corner

Hand washing is an effective way to stay healthy. Soap and water are best but hand sanitizer with 60% alcohol will do the trick too. Just scrub for at least 20 seconds, that's the time it takes to sing the Happy Birthday song twice.

Return to school fever policy:

A student needs to be fever free (temperature of less than 100 degrees F) for 24 hours, without taking fever reducing medication, before returning to school.

Call or email Nurse Polly if you have any questions.

Please do not park in the carpool lane during morning or afternoon dismissal. This area is reserved for the safe unloading and loading of our students.

Students not in class by 8:00 a.m. are marked tardy. We are giving grace the first two weeks of school.

For the safety of our students and staff please yield to students entering and exiting their vehicle opposite of the curb during carpool. We ask that drivers please remain in your vehicle and allow staff on duty to assist your student as a courtesy to others.

If your student needs help with car seats and seat belts, after loading, please drive all the way up to assist them. We encourage you to teach students to independently perform these tasks.
