School Improvement Council
School Improvement Council
The Buist Academy School Improvement Council has one parent vacancy. The SIC is an advisory council to the principal that is focused on school improvement. It is made up of parents, teachers, and community representatives.
A representative of the SIC will contact all individuals whose names are submitted for nomination before the election to confirm acceptance of the nomination.
Nominees will be invited to submit a brief statement about themselves and why they want to serve on the SIC. All statements received will be included in the election ballot. This process will give voters a chance to get to know each of the candidates.
Nominations will be accepted until Monday, November 6, 2022, at noon.

Buist is a CS100 School. This accomplishment is due to the valuable time elementary students are engaged in Computer Science.
Ms. Biggs, Ms. Anderson, and Dr. Howe work together to provide meaningful STEM and Computer Science programs.

Please remind students to check lost and found daily. We have many lost items for Quarter 1 that need to be found. Parents are welcome to check lost and found before and after school. These items will be donated on Friday, November 10.

Thanksgiving Basketball Camp at Lucy Beckham High School
The boys and girls teams at Lucy Beckham High School are teaming up to host a Thanksgiving Basketball Camp on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
The camp is offered for 3rd-8th Grade Boys and Girls!

We are having a Fall Sneaker Ball on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Time: 5:30-7:00
Where: Buist Cafeteria
Sneakers are not required to join in the fun. Come out to enjoy refreshments, the latest music, and dance moves. The cost is $8.00 per student.
