National Principals Month
October is National Principals Month! Across the nation, principals work diligently every day to provide the best education and leadership possible. Buist Academy has outstanding leaders and we want to thank Mrs. White and Mrs. Looney for all they do to give students amazing opportunities for learning in a safe, welcoming, fun, and loving environment. Help us celebrate our amazing principals for their hard work, especially during these challenging times. School Improvement Council
Thank you to Ashely Wright for serving as the parent representative on the Buist Academy School Improvement Council for the past two years. We appreciate your courage to lead and support our school community.
Congratulations to Noelle Blaney, the newly elected School Improvement Council parent representative.
Noelle Orr Blaney: My husband and I are proud graduates of Buist Academy. As a former elementary and middle school Buist student, the legacy of this school is very important to me. Not only did I receive a stellar education that prepared me as I moved on to the Academic Magnet High School and Honors College at USC, but I also established lifelong friendships. I want the children of this community and my 2nd-grade twin boys to experience that same, if not better, Buist Academy. I am a member of a family of educators, including my mother who retired from CCSD, and my husband who is a current CCSD middle school teacher. I have spent the last 17 years working in higher education. We highly value a quality education, and I am passionate about any opportunity I may have to be a positive influence on a child’s educational experience. Without a doubt, I’m committed to doing my part to make sure our students have the resources and environment necessary to set them up for success.
Thank you to all parent representative candidates. We certainly have very knowledgeable, talented, and dedicated parents. We look forward to continued partnerships.
Buist Academy Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month!
Throughout September 15-October 15, students have celebrated Hispanic heritage. Students have engaged in creating projects, cooking, comparing and contrasting authentic Hispanic items, participating in daily trivia, learning Aztec math, creating mariposas in art, and so much more.
