Teacher Appreciation
We want to THANK teachers and staff for continuing to inspire our students. Buist teachers show up daily to support student growth, achievement, and sense of belonging. Our school community is not complete without your love and encouragement.
We would like for students to show appreciation and gratitude this week by selecting one or all of the following ways to celebrate teachers:
Write a nice note or poem to give to your teacher.
Draw a picture or make a card for your teacher.
Share a wonderful memory with your teacher.
Celebrate your teacher in your own special way.
Parents may join the opportunity to show gratitude by sending teachers and staff members kind notes or emails. Your positive notes and kind words mean very much to our faculty and staff members.
Perfect SC Ready Scores
Perfect SC Ready Scores
Congratulations to our students who earned a Perfect Score on the 2023 SC Ready assessment. Each student received a certificate, a letter from the Superintendent, and a 100% Ready Club medal.
The Buist Academy School Improvement Council has one parent vacancy. The SIC is an advisory council to the principal that is focused on school improvement. It is made up of parents, teachers, and community representatives.
A representative of the SIC will contact all individuals whose names are submitted for nomination before the election to confirm acceptance of the nomination.
Nominees will be invited to submit a brief statement about themselves and why they want to serve on the SIC. All statements received will be included in the election ballot. This process will give voters a chance to get to know each of the candidates.
Nominations will be accepted until Monday, May 20, 2024, at noon.

We want to wish our students the best of luck on the SC Ready assessment. They are well prepared for this task. Remind students that during the test, they should remain calm, stay focused, keep a positive attitude, and put forth their best efforts. Scholars should get a good night's sleep and eat a well-balanced breakfast each morning. Student devices and chargers will remain at school on May 6, May 13, May 15, May 20, and May 22.

If your 3rd-7th (rising 4th-8th) grade student is not returning to Buist Academy for the 24-25 school year, please complete the school and CCSD withdrawal forms.
Do not complete these forms if:
you have accepted a seat at another CCSD choice/magnet school
your student is in the 8th grade and will be attending another CCSD school
